Cordell Riley, President

Cordell Riley is the founder and president of Tortal Training, a leading provider of training solutions in the franchise industry. Cordell is a 20-year franchise veteran and a Certified Franchise Executive. Before Tortal, Cordell was with Driven Brands in various Operations and Training roles with increasing levels of responsibility. He currently serves on the Educational Foundation for the International Franchise Association. Cordell, his wife and two children reside near beautiful Charlotte, NC. Go Panthers!!

Evan Hackel, CEO

Evan Hackel is Founder and Principal of Ingage Consulting, a consulting firm focused on improving the performance of Franchises by improving the relationship of franchisees and the franchisor. By creating a culture of partnership and common purpose, Ingage Consulting is able to help Franchises dramatically improve their performance.

Before founding Ingage Consulting, Evan worked at CCA Global Partners for twenty years. At CCA, he was responsible for four business divisions with over 2000 units, over $5 billion in sales operating in four countries. He also founded CCA’s departments in marketing, national programs, and training. He led the company's effort to buy and turn around a troubled franchise organization from bankruptcy. In four years he was able to grow the troubled franchise from 250 locations to a very successful company with over 550 locations.

In total, Evan has helped launch and found three franchise businesses during his career Two of those were at CCA—which are still successfully operating now—and one, prior to CCA, which he founded, developed and sold.

Evan received an MBA from Boston College and a BA in Economics from Colorado College. He is a current and former board member of several organizations, cooperatives and groups to which he lends his expertise.

Evan resides in Reading, Massachusetts with his wife, Laura, and three children.

Dan Black, Vice President Client Engagement

Dan Black provides learning development consulting to existing clients so they can better leverage the power of eLearning to reach strategic business objectives. He helps his clients discover innovative solutions and increase performance metrics while minimizing impact to budget. Dan is a recognized expert in eLearning solutions, training development, leadership and business development and is consulted by organizations of all sizes. Over his career, he has developed training programs, online curriculums, and designed workshops for multiple companies.

Brannon Dreher, Client Engagement Manager

Brannon Dreher joins Tortal Training as a Client Engagement Manager. Brannon has over 15 years’ experience in business development, event planning, marketing, international marketing, sales management, brand positioning, e-marketing, direct marketing, social media and public relationships across a number of commercial, industrial, and retail market niches. Brannon brings a continual learning focus, and communication skills to produce quantifiable results.

Brannon returns to the Learning and Development space to provide blended learning solutions for companies based on need and to create customized learning solutions for the clients, while increasing the effectiveness of company’s human capital whether it’s business development, service through client retention or effective leadership.

Brannon also coaches a 18U-17U Showcase Baseball team named the Charlotte Megastars. Brannon recruits young talented baseball players throughout North Carolina and South Carolina to play in his organization. Mentoring/coaching these young men to be leaders, helping them receive scholarship money and preparing them for college, career and their life.
Brannon volunteers for an afterschool program for at risk kids at Billingsville Elementary, mentoring and coordinating fund raising events for the program.

Brannon holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing & Business Development, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing & Management and had his thesis published (Dreher, B. (2011). Alternative Agriculture for the Tobacco Farmer in Kentucky Business Lexington)

Megan Sweeney, Client Engagement Manager

Before Joining Tortal Training, Megan Sweeney spent more than 20 years developing and running training for restaurant groups such as Hillstone Restaurants, 131 Main and BlackFinn AmeriPub. In addition to her extensive experience in the restaurant sector, she has created and implemented successful training programs for eHarmony and other companies.

Megan fell in love with training when she was enrolled in restaurant training programs early in her career. Today, she loves helping companies identify their needs, meet them through training, and move to the next level of success.

Megan, who grew up in Northern Virginia, now enthusiastically resides in Charlotte, where she enjoys kickboxing and taking advantage of all the eateries and great activities our city provides.

Coleman Teofilak, Client Engagement Specialist

Coleman Teofilak joined Tortal Training fresh out of college. He attended UNC Charlotte and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management with a concentration in Talent and Development. In his free time Coleman engages in various community service activities across Charlotte and collaborates in producing music with his friend.

Crystalle Ramey, Vice President Learning Development

Crystalle Ramey has over 20+ years of Corporate Learning & Development experience for companies such as MasterCard International, JPMorgan Chase, Time Warner Cable Business Class, Kelly Services and most recently owned her own company The Bulb Effect. Her roots in adult learning began as a Marksmanship Instructor in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Gulf War and the Somalia Relief Effort. Her experience is complimented by her education; having achieved an AS in International Business at Westchester Community College, a BS in Organizational Development at Manhattanville College and most recently a M.Ed. in Instructional Systems Technology at UNC Charlotte.

Additionally, she has served 2 years as the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Charlotte Chapter’s VP of Programming, ATD President Elect in 2015, ATD President in 2016 and is currently honored to serve as the Past President in 2017. She is also a comedian, having opened for several nationally touring comedians.

She is passionate about creating learning experiences that inspire behavior change. She regularly attends and speaks at conferences regarding topics that advance the learning profession by empowering learning professionals.

Stephanie Stiles, Director Project Management

Stephanie Stiles has over 17 years of experience in Learning and Development. Her efforts were initially focused in the financial industry prior to joining Tortal in 2002 as an Instructional Designer. Stephanie manages the project management team and oversees the design and development of Tortal’s eLearning solutions. Stephanie is instrumental in working with Tortal Training's clients and the Tortal team to ensure training needs are met and delivered.

Mike Ziglar, Project Manager and Instructional Designer

Mike Ziglar has over 27 years of experience in the fields of Learning and Development and Customer Service. Mike joined Tortal in 2007 after an 18-year career with Delta Air Lines, Inc. where he worked in Customer Service, Station Supervision, Corporate Security, Learning Facilitation, and Learning Design. Mike has an associate’s degree in Aviation Maintenance and Technologies in which he obtained his aircraft mechanical licenses for both airframe and power plant ratings. He is currently Tortal’s Senior Instructional Designer, performing many functions to maintain the production process as well as research and develop new products.

Aaron Chase, Instructional Designer

Aaron Chase joined Tortal Training is an Instructional Designer and Developer with 13 years’ experience in both the Federal Government and Private Sector. He really enjoys pushing the boundaries of E-Learning Development Software to create unique and engaging training courses.

Lee Wedgeworth, Vice President of Technology

Lee has over 17 years of software development and Web administration experience covering a wide array of technologies and industries. Lee’s technical proficiency and strategic understanding of various user levels and technology-based business approaches allows him to create and improve processes to elevate performance and enhance profitability in both technical and non-technical organizations.

Joshua R. De la Vega, IT Support

Joshua is a bilingual IT professional with development and project management experience in various technology platforms, in diverse cultures and environments (latin-american and north-american). Josh has 12 years of experience as a consultant working with various Web Development companies and is a hands-on Web developer avid to discover ways of putting new technologies to work. His experience in managing Web projects has allowed him to develop competencies in planning, deploying, migrating and developing the most intricate software solutions and generating solid customer relationships.

Matthew Cole, Instructional Designer Specialist

Matthew Cole is a new Instructional Designer/Developer Specialist with a degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology with eight years of training and development experience. Matthew currently serves as an active board member for the American Society for Training and Development, Charlotte Chapter (ASTD).

Deb Binder, COO and CMO

Deb Binder has over 20 years of experience working with franchise organizations, cooperatives and dealer groups. Deb has a unique understanding of the importance and benefits of engaging franchisees and members with their groups and with the corporate offices to improve business for both the franchisor and franchisees.

During her career, Deb has led teams in strategic planning, brand development, marketing and visual merchandising. She created an industry-leading lead-generation website and lead management program that changed members’ businesses, created a store of the future that beat all ROI projections and integrated marketing efforts for companies to strengthen brands, improved sales and reduced expenses.

Her work has won many accolades, including a Webby Award for her website, as well as awards for her advertising campaigns and Chain Store Age’s Store Award for the store redesign. She was also recognized as one of "25 Women Propelling the Industry" by FCN in its 25th Anniversary issue in 2011.

In addition to her career experience at CCA Global Partners, Deb also led marketing efforts at Timberland and Comcast Media.

Janet Brideaux, Director of Communications

Janet Brideaux leads Communication Services for Ingage Consulting clients. With over 10 years of experience in internal and external communications, Janet's career has focused on providing strategic communications counsel and leading the development of integrated communication plans that drive the company's vision, instill its brand and engage employees across the business. Janet has worked for franchise organizations in the distribution, food and retail industries.
